Video memory

Video memory, or VRAM, is the memory allocated for, or used by, the video system. Some Macs have dedicated VRAM; others sacrifice some system memory to be used for video.
The following table documents how much memory is required just to contain the screen buffer. On modern video cards equipped with a GPU, additional memory would be required for video processing.
