Maps of the Bohemian Realm[edit]
Hi TheWiseBeluga, thanks for the maps of the Bohemian Realm. (File:Země Koruny české za husitských válek.png, File:The Bohemian Realm during the Hussite Wars.png). Some corrections or comments to the labels:
- Vítkov and Oreb are hills, not town or cities. Lipany is a small village, Sion and Štítné are village castles without towns. The description "with many of the major towns and cities labelled" is a bit misleading.
- In the English-language map, Czech diacritics are used somewhat unsystematically and inconsistently.
- Chomutove → Chomutov. Maybe you was confused by the locative case which is "Chomutově". "Chomutove" is only a vocative case, very rarely used.
- Rakovník → Rakovník
- Vitkov → Vítkov
- Tabor → Tábor
- Uherske Brod → Uherský Brod (masculine gender). (Btw., old Central-Moravian dialects use ending "-é" instead of "-ý", but Uherský Brod is in area of East-Moravian dialects. I rather assume that you failed to correctly derive the nominative case from some other form (Uherského, Uherskému).). This error is only in the English version of the map. --ŠJů (talk) 20:07, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thank You for your answer at my talk page. I understand you cannot know Czech diacritics and grammar perfectly. That's why I try to help to make the map flawless. As regards Google Maps, they also are not just precise as regards local names. :-) And when I don't have good glasses, I also sometimes don't tell letter "i" from letter "í" :-) --ŠJů (talk) 21:01, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
