Webinars and Conversations
In keeping with its mission to support the professional and intellectual lives of its members, the MLA regularly hosts webinars and informal conversations designed to promote an exchange of ideas among faculty members, program leaders, students, and more. MLA-sponsored conversations include member discussions, events open to the public, and conversations targeted toward program leaders. These discussions cover a variety of issues relevant to MLA members, from educational gag orders to the status of postpandemic graduate education and much more.
Public Webinars
The MLA offers a series of free webinars that are available to members and nonmembers alike. Past conversations include a discussion of threats to tenure, an exchange about the future of remote teaching, and advice for how to navigate a job search in the humanities.
Member Conversations
In addition to public webinars, the MLA invites MLA members to take part in members-only programming, including a webinar series dedicated to the public humanities.
Program Leader Discussions
The MLA also organizes programming dedicated to topics of interest for program leaders in languages and literature, such as the ADE-ALD Book Club for Program Leaders and a series of conversations on planning, teaching, and research in the pandemic.
