MLA funds help defray the cost of convention travel for graduate students and underemployed members, support advocacy on behalf of contingent faculty members, promote the study and teaching of language and literature, and much more.
Contributors who donate $200 or more will be listed on the MLA Web site and in the Presidential Address program at the annual convention, and those who donate $500 or more or $1,000 or more will be listed in separate sections acknowledging their generosity.

Contribute to the Paving the Way campaign and support members affected by the COVID-19 crisis, advocacy efforts on behalf of the humanities, and other programs and grants that promote career development and workplace equity.
Contribute to the endowment fund and help promote the study and teaching of language and literature.
Contribute to the professional assistance education funds, which offer grants to graduate student, non-tenure-track faculty, and unemployed members traveling to the MLA convention.
Contribute to the fund for the promotion of the profession to help increase the public’s awareness of what MLA members do.
Contribute to the good neighbor fund, which covers the cost of MLA memberships for permanent residents of soft-currency or developing nations and helps members residing abroad travel to the MLA convention.
Contribute to the Phyllis Franklin Award for Public Advocacy of the Humanities and help honor distinguished public advocates of the humanities.
